Embryo (soms ook weergegeven als The Embryo) was opgenomen met de bedoeling om het op Ummagumma te plaatsen, maar Roger Waters vond het niet goed genoeg. Tussen 1970 en 1971 is het regelmatig live gespeeld. Het kwam nooit op een studio album van Pink Floyd uit, wel in 1970 op de compilatie LP ” Picnic – A Breath of Fresh Air”
