Dark Globe werd nieuw leven ingeblazen door Pink Floyd gitarist David Gilmour, tijdens een aantal van zijn concerten in juli 2006, als een eerbetoon aan Barrett, kort nadat hij stierf (7 juli 2006). Een versie werd later uitgebracht op een live single getiteld “Arnold Layne”.
